Tysabri day

Standard

Well, I bit the bullet and had my last infusion of Tysabri today!  We will see how well I do until I get another date.  I spoke with the hematologist nurse that does the infusions and asked her if my PCP would prescribe the Rituximab, would they give me the infusions.  She didn’t think there would be a problem, more with the billing and insurance.  Told her, I would pay out-of-pocket if I have to.

They are going to make me an appointment in 6 months hoping that I have gone to Mexico, had the treatment, and returned ready to be treated with Rituximab.

One major decision down; many, many more to go!

Gospel Singing

Standard

Come join us as we listen to and lift our voices up to praise the Lord and pray for me as I wait for another date to have Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) treatment in Mexico.  I received an email yesterday from Danielle with a date of May 23rd and it broke my heart that I had to turn it down.  I will not have completed my 3 month washout of my Tysabri infusion.  I asked for a date after July 31st so Team Mo can do this fundraiser and another one at least.  I am going to start Monday working on refinancing my house and get the equity out of it.  That hurts since I only have 6 years left on this note but doesn’t hurt as bad as MS disrupts my life.  I think we will have some great singing that night cause I know Shady Grove has several and I hope others come too.  Hope to see you there Friday, April 22nd!  God Bless!

Team Mo meeting

Standard

Team Mo had our first actual meeting yesterday at the house and we got a few things ready to get started.  The team consists Marty Renard, Autumn Turner and myself.

We are starting out with a Gospel Singing at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 6:30pm.  A love offering will be taken up during the night.  It will be an open mike so bring your musicians and singers and entertain the audience.

A Concert in the Park and an auction will be held at later dates.

A Paper Fundraiser will be held soon.  The order forms will be given to individuals to place their order, mail in and have the items delivered to their door.  Items consist of paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, batteries, sandwich bags and so much more.

Another gun raffle is planned for the middle of May thru July with a special Henry Rifle (if all works out).  The tickets this time will be $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00

These are tings that we are going to be working on while I’m waiting for a date!

We hope to see you on April 22nd for the Gospel Singing!

Trying to get it to work

Trying to get it to work

After chatting with WordPress last night, this should now have a photo to the left of the writing when I share this on Facebook. This is a trial run and we shall see.  Crossing my fingers before I hit publish!

Getting Auction Ready

Image

Dad and I spent Saturday down in the basement going thru boxes of stuff that I didn’t want to get rid of at the last auction.  Well you guessed it, I kept my 3 boxes of pigs and turned the rest into 5 boxes for the auction and one keeper.  It has mostly Jimmy’s annuals and a tin full of greeting cards the he and I exchanged over the years!  I paid for it Sunday and was sick!  Don’t know if it was the dust a moldy mildew or I was just tuckered out.

Today we spent the day in the garage and am getting rid of a lot of the boxes for the auction!  Pretty much decided if I haven’t seen it in 6 years, I don’t need it.  The more I can auction, the more money I will have towards HSCT.  We still have some boxes to go thru in the house stuffed in closets and this looks like a good week to be in the house and out of the rain.

After Team Mo sets a date for the auction, we will be asking for new and used items to be donated.  These items will be able to be tax deductible thru HelpHOPELive.  If anyone has something they would like to get out of their way now, please let us know and we’ll get it picked up.

We’ve also placed some coin banks out in some locations and after the rain is over this week, we’ll be putting more out.  A little change here and there will be greatly appreciated!

Raffles are done

These pictures are Chad Speer holding the basket for Marley Speer to draw the winning ticket for the diamond earrings won by Kelly Gregory.

I would like to take this time to thank everyone who helped make these raffles a success!  I have a long way to go for raising money but I think I have a year before I will get a date to go for the treatment.  I am excited and apprehensive at the same time.

Keep an eye on this web page for future fundraising.  Team Mo will be having a meeting soon to decide what our next adventure will be!

Thank You!

Yeah, it’s done

Finally after 3 weeks, I got my Tysabri infusion today!  between the weather and my neuro’s office, I was beginning to wonder.

I have contacted Clinic Ruiz in Mexico and asked if I made this my last infusion could I go on the cancellation list in hopes that I could get a sooner date.  I don’t think they will allow me to but I am so ready to get this done.

The raffles were going to stop on the 23rd, but the weather did not cooperate for us.  I didn’t make it to all the places I wanted to go and others had sold tickets that couldn’t make it into town to be put in the drawing.  Team Mo’s captain, Marty, is out of town and the weather has her snowed in on the east coast, so as soon as she gets back into town, we will get the gun and earrings drawn for.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  The drawings will be held within the next 2 weeks whether we have sold all the tickets or not.

Thanks in advance for being patient with us.

This is what I’m striving for

Standard

This is a video that aired on BBC.  This is done on a clinical trial that is associated with Chicago.  They act like they have come across something new, but it has been around since 2009 I know.  I have been reading and the HSCT Forum says that it has been a treatment in Russia for 10 years. Unfortunately I just found out about it in June 2015.  It took me until October to decide to apply.

I have been turned down by Chicago for the clinical trial and am on the waitlist for Mexico.

Keep your fingers crossed that my date comes soon.  I have been trying to set down and make an itemization of expenses but I haven’t.  The treatment alone is $54,500US.  I will have to take a carer and will pay for there expenses plus mine: such as airfare, passports, drugs required after coming home that insurance will not cover.  That’s just off the top of my head and I know there will be more.

It’s done & over

Standard

Finally got the order sent to the right place, filled out correctly, and pre-authorized.  I can now get my monthly infusion of Tysabri!  Only problem is a chair isn’t available until Wednesday!

Oh well, I don’t have to get up, start calling, and be teed off by 9am for a few days!  Looking forward to that!

Everyone have a nice weekend!

Raffles coming to an end

Standard

If you haven’t heard, the raffle tickets for the earrings and the rifle will be available until January 23rd after this date we will do the drawing regardless.  I will be more than happy to meet with you in town if you are local and want to purchase tickets.  I will also accept checks in the mail made out to HelpHOPELive.  Send your request to:

 Mo’s Revenge on MS

610 Lakewood Dr W

Piggott AR 72454

Let me know which raffle you would like to enter. Each ticket is $10.00 and each item has its own raffle.  I can take a picture of you stub(s) and text you a picture, send it by Facebook or I will mail them to you.  Just let me know how you want it handled.

Thank everyone that has already bought but I think it’s time to wrap these two raffles up so we can start thinking about another fundraiser.  The Mexico dates are coming up fast than I was expecting so I have to try something new.

Thanks everyone!
