A Blessing

bible (640x480).jpg

The old-time gospel singing that was held Friday, April 22nd,  in my honor for a fundraiser at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott was a blessing in so many ways.  I had a wonderful time listening to the specials by the groups and individuals.  I think and hope everyone that came enjoyed the fellowship and singing as much as I did.

There was a good turnout and I thank everyone that was there to support me in everyway as I continue this journey towards a future free of MS exacerbation’s.  The evening was a carefree night.

Today, we had Shady Grove in the Park for our church service.  Once again it turned out to be a wonderful day of fellowship and eating.  How could anything go wrong with that involved.  Thank the Lord for such a wonderful weekend. Thanks Sheila for the picture I used of Erma’s bible!

Thanks again to everyone who helped in any way on the singing!

I need your help

Standard

This is the email I sent out to everyone on my contact list:

I come to you on knees, begging for help. If you are in my email address box, I am sending this request to you.  The above address is to my tax deductible campaign to help me receive  Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) treatment in Mexico to stop the progression of my MS.
I try to always do things on my own, but the cost of this procedure is far more than I can handle.  The procedure alone is $54,500 and I also have to pay for all incidentals along with the costs incurred having a caregiver for 30 days.  I will need to pay them a month of wages that they will lose while they are gone with me. From what I have estimated, the extra cost will be over $20,000.
HSCT is not approved in the United States yet, but is in clinical trial, which I have been denied to join.  Mexico has been doing this for a few years and last July opened their doors to international patients.  I applied in October 2015 and received a date to have the procedure starting October 10, 2016.  Woo-hoo, I can’t wait, but that doesn’t give me a lot of time to raise the funds.
HSCT has a high rate of stopping the progression of the MS disease, which will keep me from getting worse.  Some that have had the procedure, have seen improvements in their walking, balance, bladder, and lifestyle in general.  Any of this would just be icing on the cake.
With all this in mind, I come to you asking for your help and prayers to help me reach my goal of having HSCT.  The above web address is to my campaign for tax deductible donations.
My web page explains the procedure more in depth which is www.mosrevengeonms.com. You can also find future fundraisers on here.  My church is having a singing Friday night, going to have another gun raffle, and planning a concert in the park. I am also planning an auction the 1st weekend in June, with all donations being tax deductible.  I you have anything that you would like to get rid of, bring it by or call me for a pickup schedule.
Thank you in advance for your time,
Merita Graddy Hanna

Team Mo meeting

Standard

Team Mo had our first actual meeting yesterday at the house and we got a few things ready to get started.  The team consists Marty Renard, Autumn Turner and myself.

We are starting out with a Gospel Singing at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 6:30pm.  A love offering will be taken up during the night.  It will be an open mike so bring your musicians and singers and entertain the audience.

A Concert in the Park and an auction will be held at later dates.

A Paper Fundraiser will be held soon.  The order forms will be given to individuals to place their order, mail in and have the items delivered to their door.  Items consist of paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, batteries, sandwich bags and so much more.

Another gun raffle is planned for the middle of May thru July with a special Henry Rifle (if all works out).  The tickets this time will be $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00

These are tings that we are going to be working on while I’m waiting for a date!

We hope to see you on April 22nd for the Gospel Singing!

Getting Auction Ready

Image

Dad and I spent Saturday down in the basement going thru boxes of stuff that I didn’t want to get rid of at the last auction.  Well you guessed it, I kept my 3 boxes of pigs and turned the rest into 5 boxes for the auction and one keeper.  It has mostly Jimmy’s annuals and a tin full of greeting cards the he and I exchanged over the years!  I paid for it Sunday and was sick!  Don’t know if it was the dust a moldy mildew or I was just tuckered out.

Today we spent the day in the garage and am getting rid of a lot of the boxes for the auction!  Pretty much decided if I haven’t seen it in 6 years, I don’t need it.  The more I can auction, the more money I will have towards HSCT.  We still have some boxes to go thru in the house stuffed in closets and this looks like a good week to be in the house and out of the rain.

After Team Mo sets a date for the auction, we will be asking for new and used items to be donated.  These items will be able to be tax deductible thru HelpHOPELive.  If anyone has something they would like to get out of their way now, please let us know and we’ll get it picked up.

We’ve also placed some coin banks out in some locations and after the rain is over this week, we’ll be putting more out.  A little change here and there will be greatly appreciated!

Let me know which raffle you would like to enter. Each ticket is $10.00 and each item has its own raffle.  I can take a picture of you stub(s) and text you a picture, send it by Facebook or I will mail them to you.  Just let me know how you want it handled.

Thank everyone that has already bought but I think it’s time to wrap these two raffles up so we can start thinking about another fundraiser.  The Mexico dates are coming up fast than I was expecting so I have to try something new.

Thanks everyone!

Fundraiser updates

Standard

I haven’t made it back on here since the Christmas Fest on the Square Sunday. Want to thank everyone that was out on that beautiful day and stopped and supported our cause to help me achieve my goal of HSCT treatment for MS.  We are slowly making a small dent in our campaign total.

We had a great day visiting with everyone and selling raffle tickets for the pair of earrings and the rifle. We also added taking orders for pork steaks and Bobby Tracer and Charlie Manchester cooked them at Glen Sain GMC in Rector.  I had not seen Bobby until I moved back to Piggott in 2008. Bobby wanted to help me out and gave of his time to get this started and I have learned something, he is loved by everyone.  The steaks were wonderful and Dad and I both enjoyed spending the morning with them and the one’s I saw picking up their orders. Thanks to Danny & Todd Ford for allowing us to use the service area at the dealership. Dawn’s Diner in Marmaduke helped get orders for Bobby too.

Thanks to TNT Signs for the great signs they made for the fundraisers. I hope to get to use them a lot after the New Year!

Thank you each and every one of you for all your help.
