Auction is Saturday, 8/20/16
It’s official
I just got finished making my airfare and hotel reservations for my trip. It’s really going to happen!
The whole time I was making the reservation my chest was hurting and I think I was starting to understand what an anxiety attack feels like!
Now I can start worrying about packing after the auction on the 20th!
Will I ever learn?
NO!!
When will I get it through my thick head that no matter where or what it is, when I make an appointment to I must always ask if it is ADA compliant. Made one for today to have an MRI in Jonesboro and assuming since it was in the medical field that it would graciously accept my power chair easy peasy! Boy was I wrong. Got there and the machine was at least 7 or 8 steps up and then had to walk about 10 feet to get to the machine. I got my workout today and I didn’t fall. They were kind and felt bad so they gave me $100 off.
I know that some places here in town are not handicap friendly but I figured Jonesboro had matured enough to meet the rules and regulations of the 21st century! Boy was I wrong.
Broke again!
Hey guys,
Thanks to family, friends, and my house; I had enough to make the $54K payment to Clinica Ruiz in Puebla Mexico! It is really going to happen and now I have to take the month of September to pack and get myself ready.
The auction is the 20th of this month and I hope it brings in enough for the rest of the stuff I need to do. I’m tempted to put in everything that I don’t use, including my pots & pans. That probably wouldn’t go over very well with Mom.
Sitting here minding my own business and in walks Mom & Dad. Asked them what they were doing and of course, it’s because of me. They said I had called, phone went dead and I wouldn’t answer. They called my land line and my cell phone and because I didn’t answer, they thought I had fell and was hurt. Needless to say, neither phone rang, so we don’t know who Mom was trying to call.
All said and done we ended up having a nice visit, and I felt guilty, I turned it to the ballgame so Mom could watch it!
Walking w/walker
This is me walking on June 5, 2016. We’ll see how my walking goes after October 10th. It will be slow going but if I regain any movement, I will be forever grateful to everyone that helped to make it happen. It will be a slow progress for it has been a slow process for my MS to progress to this stage. Let’s stop the progression on my MonSter with HSCT! It’s getting closer, I make my payment to Clinica Ruiz Monday.
Didn’t realize how bad shape my house was in, getting ready for the auction on the 20th.
An update of things going on
It has been awhile since I have made any updates on here so I will let you know what’s been going on. It has been hectic trying to raise money because my deadline to send in my payment to the clinic is fast approaching.
Dad and I have been setting up at the Piggott Farmers Market the last two Saturdays and plan on doing it again this Saturday (7/9). Thankfully it hasn’t been that hot and they are calling for a 50% chance of rain again so there may not be that many out.
We sat up at the pavilion on the 4th and had a very good day. I didn’t pay the rental fee for a small area of grass on the picnic grounds because I thought it was too much ($100) and it was calling for a 60% chance of rain and I didn’t think I would sell enough chances to pay for it. I know the picnic is held for the upkeep of the cemetery but it is held on city property and I shall stop my rant right here. I was hoping to set up at the rest of the picnics but have been turned down by the cemetery associations there also!

Vance & Autumn Turner manning the rifle raffle table on the 4th of July!
I want to thank my parents, Debbie Rhew, Vance & Autumn Turner, Ronnie Holmes, Johnny Johnson, Marty Renard, Linda Ort and her sister Susan for helping man the table on the 4th to sell chances on the rifle. With all their help, we turned out to have a fantastic day! THANKS GUYS!!!
Now about the refinancing of the house, what a nightmare this has been. I started the process in March and we are still working at it because I went from a conventional loan to a FHA loan (I made that change at the end of May). I am now having to resend everything that I had already sent them plus some. I hope that we can get this finalized by the end of July since my payment of $54K is due to Clinica Ruiz the first of August! I need this to help make the total because I don’t want to have to reschedule the HSCT.
What money I have raised thru HelpHOPELive can’t be drawn out until I get a doctor to fill out a form stating I have MS and not just raising money for the thrill of it. They have faxed the form to my PCP and my neurologist but neither has filled it out. We are still trying though. My neuro just called and because of the wording on the form, he will not fill it out. Go figure!! As of today (7/7), Danielle at Clinica Ruiz came thru and filled out the Medical Verification form so I can draw on my funds.
This is what’s been going on in my neck of the woods and I hope that everyone out there is having a good summer. I will end this on a chuckle….
My campaign is ‘Mo’s Revenge on MS’ and I didn’t think about it but a lady stopped by the table and when she first read the sign – she couldn’t figure out why Missouri was taking revenge on Mississippi!
HSCT to stop the MonSter!
I need your JUNK!
We Need Your Stuff!
Need to get rid of items that are collecting dust and taking up space. We’ll take it off your hands!!
Team Mo is taking tax deductible donations for the HelpHOPELive Foundation’s Southeast Stem Cell Transplant Fund. This is in honor of Merita Graddy Hanna who is planning an auction in June to raise money for her Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) treatment in October. We will be picking items up thru the month of MAY. Items being asked for are household items, tools, furniture, etc. Anything in working condition will be appreciated. A form will be provided for your use for tax purposes. Please call 870-324-2151 to schedule a pickup of items or contact any team member. If no answer, please leave a message. For more information on procedure, Merita, or HelpHOPELive, go to www.mosrevengeonms.com.
Thank you in advance!

Tysabri day
Well, I bit the bullet and had my last infusion of Tysabri today! We will see how well I do until I get another date. I spoke with the hematologist nurse that does the infusions and asked her if my PCP would prescribe the Rituximab, would they give me the infusions. She didn’t think there would be a problem, more with the billing and insurance. Told her, I would pay out-of-pocket if I have to.
They are going to make me an appointment in 6 months hoping that I have gone to Mexico, had the treatment, and returned ready to be treated with Rituximab.
One major decision down; many, many more to go!
Gospel Singing
Come join us as we listen to and lift our voices up to praise the Lord and pray for me as I wait for another date to have Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) treatment in Mexico. I received an email yesterday from Danielle with a date of May 23rd and it broke my heart that I had to turn it down. I will not have completed my 3 month washout of my Tysabri infusion. I asked for a date after July 31st so Team Mo can do this fundraiser and another one at least. I am going to start Monday working on refinancing my house and get the equity out of it. That hurts since I only have 6 years left on this note but doesn’t hurt as bad as MS disrupts my life. I think we will have some great singing that night cause I know Shady Grove has several and I hope others come too. Hope to see you there Friday, April 22nd! God Bless!
